At Sainsbury’s Argos, the great digital transformation is under way. It’s our aim to become the digital market leader in choice, value and convenience, so our Finance teams are more important to us now than ever before. They’re the people who provide support across the business and help make the crucial decisions that will allow us to develop into a leading digital retailer.

We have joined Sainsbury’s in our journey to become a leading retail organisation and ensuring we place our customers at the heart of everything we do. Together we have a great opportunity to build a brilliant future and do a fantastic job for all our customers.

Role Overview:

Retail Finance is a dynamic department responsible for supporting the Retail operational team, supporting 850+ stores. We ensure that the financial impact is considered when making operational decisions and support the team to effectively manage the cost base.

In this role, you will provide business partnering support for the Retail Operations team in the delivery of major projects, to help them make sound commercial business decisions. You will support the delivery of project objectives and provide insight and challenge to drive operational savings and influence decision making. You will analyse test results, produce financial modelling, challenge of assumptions and overall financial support to various project workstreams.

As Retail Finance Analyst (FTC), your main responsibilities will include:

Manage and retain strong relationships with our internal stakeholders, being both the operational project teams and the relevant finance teams.
Provide sound financial analysis to ensure that all project decisions are carried out with full consideration of the financial impact and can be implemented within current operational and financial constraints.
Present information to help raise awareness on the financial performance of relevant projects, supporting any ad hoc queries that may arise.
Support the delivery of project operational improvement initiatives and implementation of internal and external best practices to enhance process efficiency and quality of outputs.
Attend and actively contribute to regular project meetings, leading the financial agenda to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on the financial impact of the projects.

Your skills & experience will include:

Qualified Finance professional (ACCA/CIMA) with 1 – 3 years post qualified experience.
Strong commercial acumen, curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries and ability to understand key business drivers.
Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner.
Team player with good presentation and communication skills (both verbal & written).
Ability to positively and proactively engage key stakeholders to build credible relationships whilst retaining professional integrity.
Experience of working with and presenting analytical results to non-finance users.
Strong excel, analytical and presentation skills, with attention to detail.
Experience in a large company environment, preferably retail (desired).

What you’ll get in return:

If being part of a hugely influential Finance team wasn’t enough, you’ll also receive a host of great benefits. As well as a competitive salary and bonus scheme you will receive a huge range of learning and development opportunities, 22 days’ holiday, a save-as-you-earn scheme, pension and staff discounts at Argos, Sainsbury’s and Habitat.

Make every future a success.
