POSITION DESCRIPTION


Orano Fuel Cycle Services, a subsidiary of Orano US, is seeking an Engineer I-II for our Richland, WA office .


Under general supervision, performs broad, complex engineering assignments requiring originality, ingenuity and the development of new hardware. Providing engineering support to assist in management of a fleet of NRC licensed transportation shipment packages and their ancillary equipment, including maintenance and operations activities. Assists in determining package characteristics, quality categories, and handling features. Evaluates packaging modifications and repair to ensure compliance. Performs calculations and develops specifications with respect to design, maintenance and handling of the packages.

Additional responsibilities and duties include the following:
· Provide technical support for FCS-owned equipment, including transport packagings and related ancillary equipment. This support may involve serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), Project Engineer (PE), and/or System Engineer (SE) during various activities typically associated with operations and maintenance of the equipment.
· Assist with the preparation, management, and execution of package maintenance and operations procedures.
· Provides technical support including participation in necessary package corrective actions ensuring that package documentation is recorded and filed according to regulatory and TN requirements
· Coordinates with the Engineering Group for the package licensing activities and/or package design modifications..

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
·  BA/BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology, plus a minimum of 0-2 years of related work experience. An advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience.
·  Experience in equipment design involving computer tools such as EXCEL, MathCAD, AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff & management.
·  Excellent knowledge of PC-based applications such as MS Office or similar software.

The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

·  Knowledge with NRC 10 CFR Part 71 and DOT 49 CFR transportation requirements.
·  Self-starter willing and able to work with minimal supervision and oversight.
·  Moderate knowledge of machine design and related engineering standards, techniques & criteria.
·  Good communication (verbal and written) skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
·  Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
