CBI & AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium. The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site. Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Orano Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of Orano, is seeking a Advisory Engineer for our office in Charlotte, NC.

This position will provide advanced technical support functioning as an expert in a specific aspect of engineering. Maintains knowledge of developments in field of expertise; recommends new, complex, nonstandard materials/analysis/design. Reviews project progress and updates management, as needed.

Additional responsibilities will include the following :

· Develop MFFF operations documents.
· Review and validate process unit main documents, such as SDDs (System Description Documents), DRDs (Design Requirements Documents), BODs (Basis of Design) Documents, NCSEs (Nuclear Criticality Safety Evaluations), NSE (Nuclear Safety Evaluations), PDNs (Process Description Notes), Bid packages, SRDs (Safety Requirement Documents), and vendor design submittal packages.
· Review and approve other process unit documents such as DCRs (Design Change Requests), ECRs (Engineering Change Requests), and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
· Define interface documents for the transfer of the technical documentation (from engineering, vendors, etc.).
· Support I&C (Instrumentation and Controls) group with regards to workstations' design and implementation.
· Support IT group with regards to development of software and databases necessary for operations and maintenance.
· Support Regulatory Affairs in the response to NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) comments and RAI (Request for Additional Information). Review ISA (Integrated Safety Analysis) Summary and LA (License Application) updated chapters concerned with Operations and Maintenance.
· Provide technical operations expertise to resolve issues related to hardware, installation, operation, testing and maintenance of production and production support equipment.
· Review design changes that affect the process, the throughput requirements of the process units, and the plant capacity or the plant operability.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
·  Bachelor's degree in Ceramics, Engineering, Nuclear Fuel or related field, followed by ten years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or ten years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a related occupation.
·  Experience must include: design, tests, procedures, as well as fuel fabrication regarding ceramics used in mixed-oxide (MOX); experience developing schedules, activity durations, and required resources, as well as experience with Micronized Master (MIMAS) blend process.
·  Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.
