POSITION DESCRIPTION


Reporting to the Safety and Industrial Hygiene Supervisor, this position is responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities include:
· Assist in developing, implementing, delivering, and promoting Industrial Hygiene and related programs that meet regulatory and company standards
· Develop and implement workplace exposure monitoring programs for chemical, physical and biological hazards
· Manage the respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs
· Manage the electronic Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database
· Support employee groups on-site as required through regular safety huddles and information sessions
· Develop and deliver training to site personnel as required in areas of occupational health and safety
· Support OHSAS 18001 through hazard identification and risk assessment
· Ensure that specialized instrumentation and monitoring equipment such as gas detectors, sound level meter, and respirator fit test equipment is properly maintained
· Support conventional health and safety initiatives through permitting, inspections, safe work plan meetings, hazard identification and risk assessment, change management technical support, problem solving, incident investigation and analysis facilitation and technical support

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
·  Degree in Occupational Hygiene, or a Degree/Diploma in Science/Engineering with Occupational Health specialization
·  Three years post-graduation experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
·  ROH or CIH designation is an asset
·  Excellent computer skills in spreadsheets and industrial hygiene data management systems is require
·  Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewan's North (RSN)
