COMPANY DESCRIPTION

CBI & AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium. The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site. Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

AREVA Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of AREVA, is seeking a Lead Automation Software Engineering Specialist II-IV, Automation/PLC.

The Software Engineering Specialist will work in multiple automation domains; safety control software and normal control software. Dependent assignments, the Software Engineer will report to the Lead Engineers of either domain. Generally, work assignments should not overlap domains. After initial orientation and training the Software Engineer will work either individually or in a small team and expected to be relatively autonomous within the context of the current project. Projects will be varied and include new software development, updates to existing developments, software testing, and trouble shooting.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Development of PLC software that meets the project requirements including for some applications the reuse of existing applications from the MFFF reference facilities;
· Interpreting / synthesizing a process control system into written requirements based on upstream engineering documents and technical specifications;
· Provide technical review of software requirements specifications, software design documents, and code reviews;
· Execution of work within the constraints of the approved budget and schedule, and in conformation with the required quality standards;
· Assure that functional deliveries are properly placed under software configuration management;
· Demonstrate initiative and motivation necessary to assess problems and develop solutions with minimum assistance from supervisors;
· Able to understand and obey all project safety requirements and initiatives;
· Able to interact and coordinate with the responsible system engineers and designer of the process equipment.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
·  B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field of Engineering; or related experience in lieu of degree, plus 7 - 10 years of related technical experience.
·  3+ years relevant experience in automation design; either manufacturing, government or nuclear power business sectors.
·  Good understanding of a structured Software Development Lifecycle.
·  Possess strong technical writing and engineering document interpretation skills.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
·  Skilled in the use of Microsoft OS and Office applications.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
·  Familiarity with: Siemens S7, Schneider Unity, or Triconex PLC.
·  Experience with Function Block, Sequential Function Chart, and structured text programming languages.
·  Prior experience in automation in regulated environments such as commercial nuclear power, pharmaceuticals, or the FDA.
·  Experience with either Modbus or Profibus industrial networks.
·  Experience in other programming languages such as VB, C, C++, or SQL.
