Job description

DESCRIPTION

Research that Delivers Smiles Worldwide

The Amazon Last Mile Delivery team designs the tools that helps our front-line workers deliver packages to customers around the world. We are rapidly growing and need a passionate UX Researcher to help us advocate for our front-line workers while building scalable tools to keep delivering smiles. We work locally, globally, in the physical and virtual world and work backwards from the customer using a human centered design process.

What You’ll Do

In this position you’ll have a significant impact on the customer experience as you take a leadership role in driving and executing the research roadmap for the Last Mile organization. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the research mechanisms that we need to get feedback from our users. You will manage research project timelines for multiple businesses focusing on different user types. You will support a highly capable and enthusiastic team of designers, product managers, engineers, and other researchers. You will take a key role in driving both tactical, day-to-day research activities and research strategy in an organization that constantly presents new questions and challenges. Your challenge will advocating on behalf of our end users and ensuring that our stakeholders and designers have the inputs they need to build scalable tools and processes.

What We’re Looking For

We’re are looking for a researcher with a big heart and a strong backbone who is prepared to make an impact at a global scale. You should have strong background in the full end-to-end process of conducting design research and be capable of building and executing new research mechanisms. You should be equally comfortable executing research logistics (building participant pools, scheduling, communicating research findings) as you are with conducting the research yourself. What we need is a researcher who can own the full research process and leave our stakeholders with clear, empathetic, and actionable insights.

Work-Life Balance

We aren’t robots—we can’t be effective, innovative designers if we work extreme hours (plus, many of us have families!). So, while we may invest extra occasionally to put on the finishing touches to launch critical projects, we strive to accurately scope projects, reduce project thrash, and average a normal work week. With covid-19, we consider this even more vital and often accommodate flexible working hours as long as the work gets done and major meetings/milestones are met.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Graduate degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
· Experience as a User Researcher, Design Researcher, or similar role
· Experience independently executing the end-to-end research process
· Experience as a digital product designer
· Experience working with global cross-functional teams
· Understanding of UX design principles (flows, states, process)
· Strong design vocabulary to help communicate with both designers and developers
· Passion for user experience and design
· Excellent Project management, communication and organizational skills

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years of user research experience
· Experience designing and executing product research (usability tests, contextual interviews, ethnographic research)
· Experience interpreting product analytics, building reports and driving change based on analytics
· Experience driving voice of the customer programs (collecting data, reporting on outcomes, and driving change)
