DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s Shopping Design team designs the shopping journey for Amazon customers—from discovery and evaluation of products and programs, to writing and reading product reviews, to gifting and saving products for later, to checking out and completing purchases. We’re also the team that defines the UX guidelines and design language (codified in our shopping design system) that enables teams across Amazon to design on-brand shopping experiences efficiently and at scale.

We are seeking a Sr. Visual Designer to elevate the aesthetic of the end-to-end customer shopping experience. In this role, you will work with a small, passionate team to conceptualize, define, and design both the high-level strategy and detailed visual design framework, innovating new and easier ways to guide and delight the customer through the shopping experience.

The ideal candidate enjoys collaborating with UX designers, product managers, and other visual designers on how to drive the visual style and direction for the shopping experience. You are curious about how customers navigate through the hierarchy of information and action to shop and buy. You take a customer-centered approach in your work and learning through experimentation. You consider how the visual design approach should differ across contexts, devices and domains, while being able to dive deep into pixels, microinteractions, words, and similar details.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· An exceptional portfolio of innovative, customer-centric work that demonstrates visual design excellence.
· Comprehensive knowledge of the latest design concepts and emerging trends in user-centered visual design.
· Effectiveness in working across organizational boundaries to influence and deliver results.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
·Able to translate concepts into concrete depictions to clarify ideas and advance collaboration based on shared understanding.

· Willing to roll up the sleeves to meet business and product deliverables

· Passion for the power of user-centered visual design done well and well-versed in design critique best practices.
· Expert knowledge or familiarity with accessibility best practices.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A total of 6+ years as a visual designer, creative director, art director, or similar role
· A strong portfolio of user-centered visual design work.
· Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Illustrator, Invision, or similar
· Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree, in Creative Direction, Graphic Design, or related field or equivalent professional experience within the design field.
