Job description

DESCRIPTION

Are you seeking a startup like environment where you can influence the vision, define a plan of execution, and help deliver the next generation of software systems that will support Amazon's fulfillment needs? Do greenfield projects challenge you?

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers that move many millions of units of inventory, employ tens of thousands of people, and ensure that customers get what they want when we promised we would get it to them. We do this by building automated solutions to handle things that technology does well, while relying on people to handle things that humans do well.

The team is building a new Manufacturing Execution System platform product using industry standards and modeling concepts that will power the next generation of fulfillment centers. This new system will be configurable with plug and play capabilities such that new types of fulfillment centers and automation+robotics will seamlessly be enabled and launched globally. It will be distributed and highly scaleable controlling all fulfillment functionalities from processes to personnel to equipment.

As a Technical Program Manager at Amazon, you're responsible for developing and managing projects in the fulfillment process where any downtime costs millions. You will act as a bridge between software teams and regional fulfillment subject matter experts to ensure new software and operational process are rolled out on time, meet Amazon's stringent standards, and employ the most cost effective solution possible. You will work directly with the users of your software, to deeply understand the domain and identify opportunities for improvements and optimizations. We are looking for true problem solvers that find practical technology solutions to real problems.
