Job description

DESCRIPTION

Alexa is the Amazon cloud service that powers Echo, the groundbreaking new Amazon device designed around your voice. We believe voice is the most natural user interface for interacting with technology across many domains. We're looking for an exceptional product manager that can define a compelling vision, are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, and demonstrate a high degree of product ownership.

This role is responsible for Alexa Reminders, a new program designed to help you manage your time. You will own all product aspects of the space; you will define the product vision and charter for the program, key product features needed to support the vision, and product execution plan. You will own the product roadmap and help the team through the development effort against this roadmap. Since this is a new business area for Amazon, you will have a unique opportunity to define a product from scratch, turning a product vision into a live business.
To succeed in this role you'll need outstanding customer empathy. You will need to leverage customer insight to craft a compelling vision that is capable of impacting customers' lives. In addition, a successful candidate will be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively with cross-functional peers, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, exciting, and simple products and experiences that delight customers.

This role has full ownership for the program. This means that in addition to product responsibilities, you'll need to be willing to roll-up-sleeves and do whatever it takes to make your program successful. To execute effectively you'll need to partner with other parts of the business, engineering, operations, and design. You will have to possess solid grasp of technical issues to collaborate with your engineering team. Most importantly, you'll have to demonstrate grit and optimism – inspiring your team to work through obstacles.
