To help lead this charge, we are seeking a big-thinking and impact-oriented design executive to lead our efforts in delighting customers with unprecedented ease and convenience, driving significant business results, and inspiring other designers and builders around the world.

As the Sr. Principal of Design in Retail Experience Design, you will span the end-to-end shopping experience to define a vision for Amazon Shopping, working within and across design and builder teams to evangelize and drive this vision to fruition. Your point-of-view will draw from a diverse set of inputs (e.g. user research, behavioral data, inspiring patterns, and promising new tech), and you will bring this informed perspective to companywide initiatives to drive meaningful improvements and innovations to the customer experience. As a seasoned design craftsman and visionary, you will up-level the design practice and deliverables through review and feedback and by identifying and driving new design patterns and best practices. You will be a key steward for the design community, providing mentorship and coaching, and driving initiatives that expand design community and culture at Amazon.

Responsibilities include:
- Define and drive UX vision and identity for the Amazon shopping experience
- Going deep on consumer insights, product analytics, and competitive intelligence to identify unseen opportunities and drive product and CX innovation
- Lead brainstorming sessions and design reviews for ideation and concept development
- Create and rapidly iterate on ideas in order to develop them, via storyboards, user flows, mock-ups, and prototypes
- Evangelize initiatives to diverse audiences in both ad-hoc and formal presentations
- Stay on the cutting edge of what's new in technology and user experience, identifying and experimenting with new promising tech and interaction patterns
- Inspire, lead, and develop across a diverse team of Designers, Researchers, Prototypers, and Product Managers
- Contribute to the Culture and Community of Design at Amazon

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 12+ year's experience designing complex digital products and experiences and recent (preferably cross platform web, mobile, device, software, or other media).

- Experience designing for content, services, and ecommerce in a global context

- Inspiring and precise executive level communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency using contemporary design tools to solve complex problems and communicate in visually stunning detail
- A strong portfolio of innovative design work that demonstrates industry-leading design and business success
- Bachelors degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
