DESCRIPTION

Amazon EC2 Container Service (ECS) is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a key software development team responsible for developing the next generation core infrastructure for Amazon EC2 and ECS. The Amazon EC2 Container Service team is building a core set of services that allow our customers to better utilize EC2 infrastructure for their workloads. This leader will own staffing and managing the engineering team, product development, setting the team culture, best practices, planning and delivering status to the leadership.

A successful candidate will bring deep technical software expertise, ability to define and deliver ground breaking services, ability to hire and lead a team and the desire to have an industry wide impact. This leader has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology services in a hyper-growth environment. The candidate is a leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong team. AWS operates at very large scale and on critical workloads, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key. A high level of ownership and accountability is a must.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BS in Computer Science or equivalent
· 5+ years of software development experience
· Minimum of 2 years of experience managing and developing direct reports (performance review communication, accountability, motivation/engagement)
