We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join us on our File Transcoding product team. Our platform is designed to generate multiscreen video used by customers worldwide to power their video on demand (VOD) systems. We are building the best VOD transcoding platform in the world, helping us give our customers the freedom to focus on what matters: transforming ideas into compelling content that captivates viewers.

In this role, you will work on a focused team with clear leadership and a keen ability to solve our customers' problems and enable their success. The role requires outstanding programming skills and a passion for user experience and design. Your work will have a broad reach—you will develop the interfaces that our customers use to configure, interact with, and monitor their deployments. You will design intuitive and performant graphical user interfaces as well as flexible and extensible REST APIs for procedural interactions. You will also develop backend systems which control transcoding nodes and fleets of such nodes across a variety of bare metal and virtual instances.

You will dive into cutting-edge technologies like 4K HEVC delivery, high dynamic range video, immersive audio codecs, MPEG DASH delivery, virtualized and containerized media engines, cloud transcoding and storage, and high performance 10G networking. As a member of the team, you will contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle: design, experimentation, implementation, and automated testing. Your code will process millions of video assets around the world, and countless viewers will enjoy the final output. You should be willing to dive deep, experiment rapidly, and get things done. You should have an entrepreneurial spirit, love autonomy, and know how to deliver.

What you'll do:
· Write a lot of high quality code
· Learn how our products work today, and where we want to take them in the future
· Contribute multiple new features into the product and into customer environments
· Design and implement new features from specification to final test and automation
· Work closely with Media Engine, QA, and Automated Test Engineers to deliver a complete, tested customer solution
· Work in an agile development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A BS in Computer Science, Math, or an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
· 3+ years of software development experience
· Experience designing and implementing REST APIs
· 1+ year experience developing databases (MySQL, Postgres or RDS)
