DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) who wants the entrepreneurial challenge and ownership that can only come from launching new eCommerce marketplaces like Handmade at Amazon and Amazon Renewed. This position is for the Marketplace New Business area, where innovation and latest technologies merge to build brand new features and capabilities for sellers and end customers. As an SDE in the New Business area you will be exposed to the entire business life cycle - from seller's registering, onboarding, listing products and fulfilling orders to customers browsing, configuring and buying these products. As a result, SDEs in this area get to work on a wide variety of tasks, perform full stack development and have little legacy code to maintain since we launch new experiences.

As an SDE on our start-up team, you will be building cutting edge and highly distributed systems to support Sellers and Customers around the world on Amazon. The ideal candidate should have a very strong customer focus coupled with a passion for continuous, data driven improvements. They should have a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems. A commitment to team work, agility, and strong communication skills are absolute requirements. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance services requires exceptional technical expertise and a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science and large-scale distributed systems. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about building good software as well as making that software achieve its operational goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 6 or more years' experience in software development
