Join the team in building next generation, highly scalable platforms using the AWS cloud, Scala and Java, and RESTful Web Services. Our Web portals and services will drive new customer experiences for the Amazon Digital Ecosystem such as the Kindle and Fire TV, Kindle Apps, Amazon Instant Video, Digital Magazines, Kindle Books, Kindle Apps, and Amazon MP3.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will develop, execute, and maintain software to test the product. SDETs at Amazon are expected to have industry-leading technical abilities that enable them to significantly improve product quality. You should have a combination of solid in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance, computer science principles, as well as knowledge of how to architect software for maximum scalability and maintainability. You will also influence the direction of test and related tools, both in Digital Content and across Amazon.

We have aggressive goals over the next year, and there is a great deal of opportunity for a creative technical leader to innovate in the space, accelerate development, and drive product direction. To be successful in this position, you will have a strong background in algorithms, data structures, Java, and databases both SQL and NoSQL. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely (both written and verbally) and work well in a team are key competencies. You should be able to quickly adapt to new development environments, learn new systems, create reliable and maintainable code, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems. Experience working with high-traffic, scalable services is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities
· Design and build the automated test frameworks and test suites for use in development and testing cycles
· Utilize innovative test technologies to develop a product's testing strategy
· Participating in design and code inspections
· Analyze test logs; create test reports, co-ordinate with stakeholders.
· Perform manual testing, the scope of which will encompass all functionality of services to as a prequel to automation

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field

· Experience building and designing test cases
·
· Experience with testing methodologies (e.g. Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Load/Performance Testing)
·
· 2-5 years professional experience in software development
·
· 2-5 years of industry experience in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java or C#
