DESCRIPTION

Want to help design and build systems which support Recruitment in Human Resource products? Come be part of a team that works with the latest technologies to automate systems which help Amazon scale. You will work as a Software Development Engineer using the latest technologies including Java services in a serverless and microservices architecture, AWS, DynamoDB, SageMaker, and MXNet.

You will still want to be coding and contributing regularly. This is a hands on role with the expectation of 50% of your time spent on the code. You will work as part of a sustainable paced agile team and will play a technical hands on leadership role in your team giving you the responsibility and authority and autonomy to ensure success. You will have a system-wide, architectural view of the solutions that you build. You will be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation, business analysis, research and technical design through to software development using the latest technologies and design patterns. The systems you contribute to will meet remarkably high standards of performance and reliability, and will operate at massive scale, 24x7.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience designing, building and operating distributed systems (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling).
· Fullstack experience, including frontend web development (JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS)
· Knowledge of mobile technologies and / or responsive web design.
· Linux/UNIX (command-line tools, shell scripts, operations)
· Experience in basic data manipulation and analysis, including command-line tools and scripting.
· Advanced coding skills (concurrency, profiling and performance optimisation).

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· Computer Science Honours degree (2:1 or better) or another technical degree or postgraduate study. In lieu of degree, relevant skills and equivalent experience.
· Demonstrated coding and problem solving skills in at least one modern programming language.
· Strong computer science grounding in a broad range of algorithms and data-structures.
· Good design pattern knowledge and the ability to pick the right pattern after understanding the trade offs.
· Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
