As part of the Auto Scaling team, you will own end-to-end delivery of new console features - from refining requirements & mocks, through design, implementation and release.

The Auto Scaling service intelligently adds capacity to applications to meet demand and removes capacity during lulls to save customers money. We are building the next generation of Auto Scaling - expanding the range of supported services, building smarter scaling capabilities and adding new tools for customers. We build on over 15 years of experience creating and operating the world's largest online retail platform. Auto Scaling is used by a wide range of AWS internal teams and external customers.

As an engineer on our team you will work with our User Experience (UX) and Product Management (PM) teams to define and deliver the features that you own, and your colleagues building the backend APIs. You are invited to attend customer meetings to directly learn about their requirements and what they have to say about our service. Your ideas will influence our designs and the final product.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field, or commensurate professional experience
- Understanding of CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms and complexity analysis
- Design and architecture knowledge as well as familiarity with object oriented analysis and design patterns (OOA/OOD)
- Experience developing rich applications with HTML, CSS, JS
- 3+ years of professional frontend web software development with HTML, CSS, Javascript, DOM, JSON, AJAX and general Web 2.0 techniques
- Experience with Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks including React, Angular, Ember, Dojo, Node etc..., and expertise in at least one of them
- Experience with different UI testing methodologies and frameworks
- Able to provide examples or portfolio of best-in-class frontend development work
- Experience working closely with UX Designers in a collaborative development environment
