DESCRIPTION

Do you like Alexa? Do you have a passion for cars? Do you love bleeding edge technology? Alexa Automotive is looking for exceptional software development engineers to work on enabling Alexa – the voice controlled personal assistant behind Amazon Echo – in automobiles. The team seeks to provide seamless experiences for customers with Alexa in the car.

As Alexa moves into cars, the ability to search and find relevant businesses and points of interests (gas stations, airports, landmarks and local businesses like coffee-shops, malls, grocery stores) becomes paramount for Alexa's in car experience. As an experienced SDE, you will be expected to deliver on key initiatives in the Local Search vertical for Alexa Auto. You own the end to end solution from ingesting data to building indexes to developing geo-spatial search solutions which deliver the best customer experience to local search queries. You will be using ML based solutions, leveraging modern AWS services like EMR, Spark, SageMaker, ElasticSearch to solve complex problems that affect data quality and search relevance.

You will work with business partners, software development engineers and testers UI/UX designers to design, implement, test, launch, document, and maintain complex software applications, tools, and systems. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. You will learn a variety of cutting-edge technologies, development processes, and develop well-rounded skills such as leadership, and effective project management. You will also mentor junior software development engineers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
· Experience in Search Domain.
· Interest in Machine Learning (ML), Big Data processing and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
· Excellence in technical communications with both technical and non technical peers
