The Role:
Amazon Design Technologies is a multi-disciplinary team that provides design software, systems platforms, and design processes to our Product Development, New Technology, Operations, Retail, Footwear, Apparel, and Manufacturing teams. We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer who enjoys solving problems and have a strong technical background in Software Development.

As a Software Development Engineer in Design Technologies team, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the systems that Amazon's research, development, and design teams rely on to make the next generation of Amazon Digital devices. You will be working on highly scalable and performance optimized solutions using AWS services and coordinate with researchers/engineers to build/support the applications they need. You will customize and integrate third-party software to meet Amazon's needs. You will create/improve existing applications to match Amazon's high bar for operational excellence.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
2+ years of software development experience in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
2+ years of experience in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C/C++, Python and SOAP/REST services in UNIX/Linux and Windows environment.
1+ years of experience in managing Relational Databases such as MySQL/MSSQL and NoSQL databases, service-oriented architecture and web application/services development.
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
