Amazon Video designs and builds user interfaces using the latest technologies, to enable viewers to watch content across a wide range of TVs, connected devices and games consoles. We are looking for talented software developers to join our creative and supportive team based in London.

This position will be located in London's east end in Amazon's newest building between Liverpool St and Shoreditch.

As the Platform team, our mission is to save the feature teams from the burden of dealing with the intricacies of the underlying platform and architecture of choice, and enable them to fully concentrate on creating an immersive and engaging user experience. Working in our Prime Video Web Platform team, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new platform features, identifying and eliminating performance bottlenecks, and establishing a strong communication channel with the feature teams.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design.
· Highly proficient in at least one of Java, C++, C# or Scala.
· Experience with one or more of JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Python.
· Evidence of working with algorithms, data-structures, efficiency, concurrency, performance optimization.
· Evidence of working with object-oriented development and design patterns.
· OS fundamentals and systems architecture.
· Cloud computing, large-scale and high-availability distributed architecture.
· Experience working in an Agile environment.
· Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal English communications skills.
