DESCRIPTION

The Emerging Products Team in NYC focuses on developing advertising products that are strategic bets for Amazon in the long-term. Our customers, both internal and external, want to do things that have never been done at Amazon. We are pioneers, and as such, we are often challenged to create a path where none previously existed. This can be exciting, because it gives us a wide-breadth of experience, but also difficult, because we deal with significant ambiguity. We work with various product managers, to iterate on ideas and test the potential and the demand of our solutions. Our portfolio includes advertising solutions for Entertainment, Financial Services, Automotive, and Telecom verticals and we are continuously developing new products. A few examples of the solutions we have developed: 1) Prime Now Drive Now - where customers can book a car test drive and Amazon in collaboration with the car service provider ships the cars to the customer doorsteps 2) Amazon Homepage Video Widget, that serviced Prime Day in 2018, and continues to service video campaigns for Entertainment Vertical 3) Despicable Me 3 where, for 24 hours, we replaced the customer reviews star ratings with minions. We are seeking someone who has strong technical, project and people skills with a can-do attitude and a focus on delivering high quality software.

What does it take to succeed in this role?
You'd have to be technically strong as a full stack engineer, knowing from scalable, secure and low latency Java services to latest UI technologies. Main role is to create impact on setting the bar high and making the right architectural decisions, so restlessness on advocating and ensuring the highest bar on engineering practices. We know that this would be tiring but to be successful long term the Sr. SDE needs to have that impact of growing the quality of the design solutions and software development practices for the entire team.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
· Equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree based on 3 years of work experience for every 1 year of education
· 3+ years professional experience in software development
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
· Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
· Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
· Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java
