The AWS Marketing Engineering team offers a playground of opportunities for software mavericks to build and guide Amazon's SaaS thinking in the marketing space. We come to work every day with a passion for code and an obsession for helping other software developers solve their hardest problems.
We are looking for an accomplished software engineer who enjoys diving deep into the world's most challenging software challenges and relishes the opportunity to engineer solutions that out-live their fellow developer's code, and who holds his/her team to the same high standards in architecting, developing and deploying everything the team builds.
Specifically, we are looking for self-directed engineers who will own and drive the architecture, design and development for a brand-new technology platform for managing events, with the eventual goal of releasing this as AWS's platform for events-as-a-service. The newly formed AWS Event Platform team is focused on creating a robust, scalable and flexible event technology platform, which will power AWS flagship events (re:Invent, AWS Summit series, etc.). Event technology is an area ripe for innovation and events as–a-service represents a large market opportunity. AWS events are high profile events and this role (and team) will design and build a state of the art event platform to power the events and the customer experience - pre-event, onsite and post-event.
§ This engineer must be able to communicate clearly and understand how to achieve a high level of focus and excellence with strong, talented, and opinionated teams.
§ This engineer must have demonstrated a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive in their current and past projects.
The role is Seattle based (with full support for relocation) with less than 5% required travel.
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
§ A Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
§ 3+ years of building of large scale, distributed systems & web farm applications
