Overview
As a Region Build Engineer, you will join a fast growing team inside Amazon Web Services responsible for building new regions around the world. Our team of seasoned professionals come from diverse backgrounds including program management, networking, software development, and data center operations. Working with the Region Build Team provides an opportunity to work across the full system stack, interfacing with teams across all of AWS.

Responsibilities:
· Contribute to the improvement of data center builds
· Generate and manage trouble tickets, engaging teams to resolve issues, and track/resolve repeat problems during region builds
· Drive automation of daily tasking
· Work hard, have fun, and join us in making worldwide history

This position is available in Herndon, VA or Seattle, WA.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Significant experience with one or more advanced programming languages.
· Ability to read, troubleshoot, and contribute to advanced service computing projects in C, C++, Java, Ruby, Python, or Bash
· Intermediate computer science and networking knowledge
· Basic project management skills
· Intermediate knowledge of server hardware
· Advanced knowledge of Linux, UNIX administration
· Understanding of TCP/IP networks and troubleshooting
· Excellent prioritization and time management
· Experience working across teams and architectures to quickly identify root cause
· Ability and availability to travel globally
