DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) in Pasadena, CA, is looking to hire a Hardware Development Engineer with experience in semiconductor process development who will aid in AWS’s effort to bring cloud quantum computing services to its worldwide customer base. The candidate will work in a cleanroom environment, alongside scientists and engineers, within the device fabrication group.
Responsibilities include operating and maintaining complex tools, running fabrication processes, performing inline metrology, keeping thorough documentation and collecting measurement data, and interacting with project leads to provide feedback that continuously improves the fabrication process. Candidates must have a demonstrated background in sound engineering principles and must have basic data analysis, problem solving, and communication skills. Successful candidates will have prior experience working in an academic or industrial fabrication facility. Working effectively within a team environment is critical.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· BS or MS in physics, applied physics, materials science, electrical engineering or related field

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Associate degree in electrical engineering or related field
· 2+ years of relevant hands on experience within an industrial or academic fabrication cleanroom facility
· Experience in operating various fabrication tools, handling wafers and diced samples, manual wet chemical processing
· Self-starter with excellent organizational skills
· Good problem solving, analytical, writing and communication skills
· Curiosity and capability to rapidly research and learn new tools, techniques and technical topics
