DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Infrastructure team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, Program Manager to own the DC Capacity Planning for a subset of AWS regions. You own mitigating projected capacity shortfalls or constraints by working with Construction and Infrastructure Operations. You will own the publication of our Data Center Capital plans, used for financial planning and budgeting. You own ensuring we are triggering the right capacity at the right time, for all data center capacity resources, such as land, substations, electrical infrastructure, and construction. You own ensuring we are meeting our capacity needs with the lowest cost capacity options, in the spirit of frugality.

Our team owns the supply plan for data center power and space in response to the customer forecasts. We own initiatives to model and improve the utilization of our power, cooling and space infrastructure in our data centers so that we are generating capacity at the lowest possible cost. In this role you will work closely with demand planning, finance, construction, and software development teams to deliver high quality and robust capacity planning processes, with favorable business outcomes. You will identify defects or waste in our planning processes, and drive new processes and software automation to eliminate the defects and prevent them from recurring without posing risk to availability.

Successful candidates will be analytical with business acumen, and detail driven with excellent problem solving abilities. You should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics, continuous process improvement and mentorship.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelors degree in statistics, business, finance, engineering, or a related field.
· 3+ years of capacity planning, production planning, operations planning, or inventory planning experience.
· Strong analytic skills and a demonstrated ability to build and manage models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving.
· Ability to source and analyze complex data sets using SQL.
· Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet tools and models.
