DESCRIPTION

We are looking for Principal Camera Architect to develop new camera architectures, component specifications, system level analysis and test specification that related directly/indirectly to camera image and video quality.

As a Principal Camera Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping camera systems design for a variety of video, photographic and computer visions use cases. You will be driving architecture, design specification, test development, manufacturing process on camera subsystem in general as well camera system components such as lens, sensors, ALS, IR lights, etc as well camera algorithms and SOC/ISP functions supporting best camera performance. In this role, you will need to cooperate with the Lab126 camera hardware teams, image quality tuning teams and software algorithm teams to cooperate and deliver top level hardware component to software solutions. Your challenge will be not only from digital image system, but optics, image sensor to ISP hardware component in real world. We need our engineers to be self bar-raiser, also enthusiastic to take on new challenges and problems to be using the logical and efficient methodologies across the full-stack departments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or relative Engineering technical field.
· Knowledge in the domain of Camera technology, familiarity with algorithms such as 3A, HDR, etc.
· Experiences with streaming video and video compression
· Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, work with teams and ability to multi-task on multiple products and projects.
· Understanding of ISP pipeline and HW/Systems architectures
· Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness.
· Experience with imaging testing lab management and test setup design and implementation.
· Experience in full development lifecycle for embedded camera systems
· Experience in vendor management and manufacturing processes (especially camera, sensor, lens, ALS and IR LEDS)
· Knowledge of optics simulation tools such as Zemax or ASAP is a big plus.
· Experience in Matlab/Python/Javascript coding as well as shell scripting is a plus.
· Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BA/BS degree in Optics, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience
· Extensive experience in camera systems design and camera specification, camera test development, manufacturing process development and implementations for camera system.
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
· 10+ years of relevant work experience, including software algorithm development, test and deployment of camera image systems.
· Understanding Camera Image Quality tools, metrics and methods
· Hands-on experience on assessing image quality evaluation for all build phases (EVT/DVT/PVT) for embedded camera systems
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills
