We are looking for an Android Engineer to join our mobile development team and help us undergo a refactor of our current Android and Kindle Fire/Fire Phone apps. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the future of comiXology on the Android platform. What You'll Do:
· Work with a team of software engineers in the design, development, and testing of the comiXology Android and Kindle apps.
· Work closely with the leadership team to define roadmap and development plans
· Help define and implement standards and promote best practices for the Android development team
· Tackle daily challenges with your creative problem solving recommendations
· Contribute knowledge to the rest of the team and the organization

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

At least 2+ years experience working with the following technologies:
· Java and the JDK
· Android SDK
· Advanced Android UI Skills (Fragments, Custom view components)
· writing multi-threaded and Networked apps
· debugging and analysis skills using ADB
· application submission/provisioning process
· version control – Git preferred
