Come join the team which owns and runs the framework our internal engineers and hundreds of teams use to support millions of customers, from small start-ups to household names like Netflix and NASA. You will be exposed to a broad range of AWS services and learn about managing services at scale at Amazon. We are free to use the right tool for each task, which includes Java, Spring, node.js, JavaScript, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, CloudSearch, CloudWatch, Redshift, SQL, git,

Kumo is the AWS engineering team tasked with innovating to improve the customer support experience on AWS. Come join us as we develop world class customer support capabilities for Amazon Web Services.

We produce and support a range of tools which enable support engineers to diagnose and solve customer problems. We enable everything from basic diagnostics to predictive algorithms which warn customers of potential hazards and inefficiencies. We put the obsession in customer obsession.

We do Agile Sprints, design reviews, code reviews, continuous deployment, infrastructure as code, and are constantly looking for ways to improve the customer experience. We are seeking Software Development Engineers who drive innovation, inventing on behalf of customers. This is a challenging opportunity where you will be building complex AWS Cloud applications, securing those with state of the art security mechanisms and everything in between.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
· Experience building solutions using AWS services.
· Proficiency in backend (Java, node.js) and/or front-end (JavaScript, Ruby) programming technologies.
· Experience designing and/or implementing automated software testing, deployment and performance analysis systems
· Experience in developing systems architecture
· Effective verbal and written communication with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, define product features and develop technical designs.
· Experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery
· Effective organizational skills to maintain a consistently high standard of operations in a busy environment
· Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills to facilitate efficient and effective interaction with peers and customers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
