DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a Financial Controller to join an exciting, high growth area of Amazon within our European Operations Finance team in Italy.
This role will have a direct impact on driving the future of Amazon’s world-class operations network. The person in this role will be directly responsible for controllership and finance in the logistics field operations. In addition, the role will involve ad hoc analysis and special projects requiring detailed modeling to drive the decision-making of senior leadership. The candidate should be comfortable driving deadlines among various teams. He/she will work closely with operations leaders, technology teams and international finance teams.
Financial Controllers work with multiple sites, help others understand financial decisions and are *the* trusted business advisor. They employ every facet of data and communication to ensure our partners and our leaders have the most up to date and reliable information to help them make the best possible decision.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Excellent communication skills, working with multiple peer groups and levels of management
o Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
o Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions
o Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis combined with proven ability to communicate those analysis
o Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Access, Essbase and/or Cognos) and other financial systems such (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
o Fluent in English
o BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
o Proven familiarity with concepts of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
o Experience in logistic controlling - forecasting, planning, optimization
o Advanced Excel user
o Ability to travel – 20% of time will be spent in facilities outside of the regional office
