Job description

DESCRIPTION

Dataset Analyst
Amazon Search creates powerful, customer-focused search and advertising solutions and technologies. Our Visual Search team creates solutions aimed at helping customers search and discover the world around them via a camera-phone view. We use advanced technologies to leverage our vast catalog of images in ways that dramatically improve the experience of Amazon customers. We tackle complex problems in computer vision, image recognition, machine learning, and large-scale distributed systems.

Amazon Search is seeking a quick-thinking, detail-oriented analyst to help us build Amazon-scale datasets for our machine learning efforts. Specifically, you will accelerate the progress of our computer vision teams both by measuring the performance of their solutions, and by creating new datasets that incorporate feedback from the performance monitoring. To succeed, you must possess a broad knowledge of consumer products in general, have a sharp eye for differences between images, and continuously seek out ways to improve and scale up our dataset building efforts.
Responsibilities include:
· Helping engineering teams to build training and test datasets for machine-learning projects.
· Annotating and assessing the quality and content of images and other data sourced from English- and German-speaking locales.
· Building, operating and/or analyzing data groundtruthing pipelines that involve multilingual workforces.
· Monitoring the performance of production visual search systems, and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
· Producing reports on system performance to enable stakeholders to make effective decisions, using Excel and other internal tools.
Amazon Search provides a highly customer-centric, team-oriented setting in our offices located in Palo Alto, California. With us, you'll experience the benefits of working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, while leveraging the resources of Amazon.com (AMZN), one of the world's leading Internet companies.
