DESCRIPTION

The Pre-Owned business (POB) team within Amazon Devices is looking for a leader to fill the newly created position of Business Intelligence Engineer. This person will lead our group in designing and developing data visualizations that help us decipher key insights from the data that might otherwise go unnoticed. This role is central to the continued growth of the Pre-Owned division as it continues its fast paced growth and expansion from the sales of the Pre-Owned devices to driving upgrades through the Trade-In program.

One of the key missions of POB group is to provide choice to our customers by making Pre-Owned Devices available for purchase through various channels and to provide customer appealing trade-in propositions and reducing friction to upgrade. To support this business, the group needs the insights from our existing data, most accurate forecasts, inventory targets, to ensure every customer is able to purchase the product they want, when and where they want it.

As the first Business Intelligence Engineer for our group you would be responsible for creating compelling, clear, and powerful representations of our data based on past performance. Looking forward, you will be required to figure out what's important to the business, to specific partners, even when they might not even realize what it is; to work with different groups and people to develop visualizations that move the business forward and enable better decisions to be made in less time.

In order to achieve this, you would also evaluate the use of capabilities and models from other groups within Amazon Devices organization - Optimization tools, advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms and big data solutions.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree
· 5+ years of industry experience with BI Development – reports, metadata layer, dashboards, using SQL queries or other BI tools extracting data from various heterogeneous data sources.
· 3+ years of experience using Tableau, Model data and metadata to support ad-hoc and pre-built reporting
· Experience in SQL independently mining data to translate Business data needs into creative visualizations.
· Experience working with business customers, gathering requirements and gaining a deep-dive understanding of key data.
