This apprenticeship opportunity is for transitioning US Armed Forces (including Reserves and National Guard) members, veterans and Military Spouses. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and currently maintain an active, Top Secret security clearance issued by the US Government.

AWS is looking for aspiring and motivated individuals, with a military background, who align with our Leadership Principles for our Data Center Technician Apprenticeship Program. If accepted, apprentices will be provided both formalized IT training and on-the-job training, leading to a position as a Data Center Technician with AWS.

The scope of work includes: troubleshooting and repairing servers with hardware and network issues; decommission end of life equipment; diagnosing data center hardware; and replacing failed components. Candidates must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision and handle multiple priorities.

Data Center Technicians will be responsible for day-to-day incident management of servers and networking equipment, project work and capacity management.

Apprentices must be able to obtain a CompTIA A+, Net+ and Linux+ within first 3 months of hire date. This position also requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and must currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements.
