Amazon Data Center Global Services (DCGS) delivers mission critical facilities to support Infrastructure and AWS. We are a team of hard-working, highly-motivated, engaged, and responsive professionals who support the core infrastructure of Amazon's business.

We're looking for the right person to connect multiple sources of data and compile the results in a meaningful manner. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter than can work independently in a fast paced environment and maintain a high level of customer obsession. The Infrastructure team provides AWS and Amazon.com with the compute, network and datacenter capacity that are the foundations of the retail and cloud business.

As a BI Engineer you will own the data platform for AWS by automating data feeds from various sources, validating the data input and analyzing cost and/or trends that lead to cost saving initiatives. The successful candidate will work with individual team experts to develop forecasting models for their team's reporting needs. In this role, you will own solving important business problems through deep data review, statistical analyses, and creation of analytic tools. Your analysis and data tools will guide our reporting, benchmarking, program optimization, financial planning, and execution strategy.

Key Responsibilities
· Owning the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to support analytical and business needs.
· Working with various stakeholders within AWS Infrastructure to examine organizational metrics and costs to determine actionable outcomes using data and analytics.
· Acquire and maintain AWS data points from various sources. This data will often be from disparate, ambiguous, or difficult sources.
· Using analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions.
· Performing sophisticated analytical exercises to reach actionable business insights for the organization and broader AWS Infrastructure teams.
· Work with finance operations teams based throughout the world to ensure data quality and resolve inaccuracies.
· Write SQL queries and output efficiently, and have in-depth knowledge of the data available in area of expertise. Pull the data needed with standard query syntax; periodically identify more advanced methods of query optimization. Convert data to make it analysis-ready.
· Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
· Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines
· Review and audit existing ETL jobs and SQL queries.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in math, finance, engineering, statistics, or related discipline is required.
· Fluency in Python or a similar modeling language, and proficiency in SQL, Tableau, SNS, API
· 3+ years in the analysis space as a Business Intelligence Engineer, Business Analyst, Data Engineer, or similar roles, with proven analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases..
· Experience using Python, Ruby, or other scripting languages to automate data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis.
· Experience of using computational tools to automate data acquisition and analysis
