DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Lists team is looking for a quantitative and experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to drive the development of analytics and insights to power the Lists business. Amazon Lists owns the core List experience (www.amazon.com/wishlist) on the Consumer Website and our List platform powers 50+ other List experiences across Amazon and our subsidiaries. You will be an integral part of the product and development team innovating for millions of List customers worldwide.
In this role you will leverage your advanced SQL skills to construct and implement data pipelines to collect, clean and organize data and perform structured analysis to identify areas of opportunity for the List business. You will design, create and manage large datasets using stable, scalable, low cost solutions to flow data from production systems into end-user facing applications. You will partner with the business team to develop and define key business metrics and answer important business questions that will help prioritize the product roadmap and improve the customer experience. You should be a customer-focused self-starter with a passion for process improvement and is excited by mining large and complex datasets. Key Responsibilities Include:
· Design automated solutions for recurrent reporting (daily/weekly/monthly) and in-depth analysis databases using ETL and advanced SQL
· Work with and synthesize large datasets from multiple data sources
· Collaborate with development team to introduce new metrics and identify areas where customer experience is degrading
· Deliver analytical insights to identify business opportunities, define product vision and prioritize product features
· Deep-dive a variety of ad-hoc questions on emerging customer experience trends
· Learn, publish, analyze and improve management information dashboards, operational business metrics decks and key performance indicators with a combination of SQL, Excel, and BI tools like Quicksight
· Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering or other quantitative field
· 3+ years of professional experience in data analytics, business analysis or comparable analytics position
· Advanced skills in data mining using SQL, ETL, data warehouse as well as Excel
· Ability to structure complex analysis and perform the analysis to drive insights
· Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
· Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast paced environment
