DESCRIPTION

Amazon.com operates in a virtual, global e-commerce environment without boundaries, and operates a diverse set of businesses, including Retail, third party marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, web services for developers. The RBS group is an integral part of Amazon online product life cycle. The team is designed to ensure Amazon remains competitive in the online retail space with the best product information. The team’s primary role is to create and enhance retail Amazon online catalog. The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on customer buying decisions and online user experience.

Amazon is seeking an exceptional Business Analyst to join RBS MENA team. This person will bring innovation, a strategic perspective, a passionate voice, and an ability to prioritize and execute on a fast-moving set of priorities, competitive pressures, and operational initiatives. You will partner closely with program, product and technology teams (within RBS and across partner teams) to define and build innovative catalog experiences for customers. You must be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and have the ability to break complex problems down into steps that drive product development at Amazon speed.

The key responsibilities for this role include:
· Manage stakeholder expectations (stakeholder here will be within BU - ideally STL/service/product leaders)
· Being an expert on data repositories / warehouses across catalog
· Validating the data to ensure accuracy in the output, generating descriptive statistics and extracting insights
· Automation of key business reports & experience with data visualization tools like Tableau & Amazon Quicksight
· Translate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into analysis requirements
· Actively manage the timeline and deliverables of projects
· Provide program communications to stakeholders
· Communicate roadblocks to stakeholders and propose solutions, escalating where required
· Represent team on medium/large-size automation projects in own organization. Also communicate across teams
· Partner with tech/process excellence team to provide the right updates to stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate across business areas
· Working knowledge of LEAN and SIX SIGMA methodologies and familiarity with Oracle

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field;
· 2+ years of experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role
· 2+ years of experience conducting analysis and data mining
· Proficient extracting and processing data using SQL
· Strong analytical and coding skills, with 2+ years’ experience with R (preferred) or Python
