Amazon Web Services' public sector team is at the center of transforming the way government delivers government services to citizens worldwide. Our U.S. Department of Defense team is seeking experienced technical writers with diverse subject matter writing experience. Your skills will be essential to developing and delivering high quality accurate and timely written deliverables that will guide our public-sector customers in their journey to the cloud. You will work with and learn from AWS subject matter experts in cloud infrastructure operations, cyber security compliance, building secure, agile, and high-availability mission solutions.

The AWS Program Management Office (PMO) Technical Writer is an integral part of a technical program delivery team responsible for the overall program performance including the collection of essential data and presenting data in context and formats our customers are most familiar with. The Technical Writer is in a key position to help grow our cloud computing business and make an impact in an exciting, growing market. The Technical Writer is responsible for researching and documenting internal AWS information and drafting clear, concise, accurate, and compliant program documentation. In addition, this person is responsible for the development and maintenance of contract deliverable documents.

The Technical Writer role requires a collaborative team member who can effectively work across all levels of AWS and the customer, gathering information and producing critical content under tight deadlines. You will actively engage with key AWS stakeholders to ensure that all written content is appropriate and up to the highest quality standards, while maintaining complete fidelity to accuracy and proper handling of sensitive or classified data. You are an accomplished writer with the ability to convey complex technical solutions, security, and compliance information within the Enterprise IT / Cloud Computing domain space in a highly readable, customer-focused format. You will collaborate with the PMO staff in the development of contract deliverable documentation to include both written and graphic content.

You will:
· Work directly with the program management team to identify required content for contract documentation
· Effectively manage a library of living documents to address recurring content update
· Engage with Solution Architects and other AWS technical resources to draft and maintain accurate and timely program content
· Engage with key AWS stakeholders including AWS service teams to conduct research, develop appropriate content, and garner approvals
· Organize material and completes all writing assignments in a timely manner with quality and adherence to both customer and AWS standards
· Document and maintain a library of approved content, which is updated continuously
· Drive and organize contract deliverable documentation
· Review final documents for editing and content review

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree or equvalent work experience
· 3+ years of professional experience in technical writing role
· Experience creating content with Department of Defense related documentation
· Experience with document management systems including in-depth knowledge of MS Word, graphics applications such as MS Visio or similar graphics tools
· This position requires submission of writing sample
· This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
