About Tech U
If you have a deep passion for utilizing technology to empower businesses and a love for collaborating with technology and business leaders then the AWS Tech U Program is for you. AWS Tech U is an accelerated career development program for those who want to advance both their technical and business skills. The Program will provide you with training and work experience that aligns in the fields of Solutions Architecture, Technical Training and Professional Service Consulting. This unique residency program consists of a 6-month, instructor-led, project-based learning curriculum (where you must be open to both Herndon, VA, and Seattle, WA for this portion of the program), followed by a 6 month On-the-Job Training (OJT) learning assignment within Solutions Architecture, Technical Training, or Professional Services Consulting. To be considered for this role, you must be willing to complete the 6 months of OJT in Herndon Virginia (based on business need). AWS will provide relocation assistance for both the academic and on-the-job training assignments.

Associate Solutions Architect
As a Solutions Architect within Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are looking for motivated technologists who possess a balance of technical depth, business knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. You will partner across AWS teams to help customers craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems. As a trusted customer advocate, the solutions architect will help organizations understand best practices around cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help customers use AWS within their organizations ranging from new start-ups to large enterprise customers.

Use your hands on experience in one or more of the following technical areas to support transitioning public sector customers' to AWS: security and compliance, container technologies, serverless compute, machine learning, big data and analytics, databases, networking connectivity to AWS, software development and infrastructure architecture.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field such as computer science, computer engineering, or relevant
· Programming experience in one of the following languages: Java, Python, Ruby, C# or C++,
· Experience with Networking fundamentals, Security, Databases (Relational and/or NoSQL), Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows)
