The global accounting organization supports our financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities and also supports new business launches globally for Amazon in the consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business.
The Robotics Process Automation (RPA) Development and Operations (DevOps) Manager is responsible for leading architecture, development and support activities to achieve our accounting automation goals. This role requires experience leveraging RPA and complementary technologies to eliminate manual work across a variety of accounting business processes and financial reporting use cases.

The RPA DevOps Manager is the primary technical advisor to our RPA Program. RPA DevOps Manager is consulted to help drive high-level business process assessment and roadmap planning for automation opportunities. This role owns technical design documentation, data security, automation build and operational support for the entire automation portfolio. The RPA DevOps Manager must work collaboratively with RPA Program leadership, process optimization specialists, accounting process owners, subject matter experts and target systems owners to meet our highest standards for quality and timely delivery of automation build and support services. The role focuses on long-term business technology objectives and targeted business outcomes by clarifying automation technology capabilities, assessing and mitigating security risks, ensuring platform scale, availability and stability, managing automation development cycles and providing best-in-class support services. Additional responsibilities include internal control design and implementation to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

We require a manager level candidate who has held similar positions in larger public companies or who has held a manager level position with a Big 4 consulting firm serving Fortune 500 clients for seven or more years. Successful candidates will have the equivalent of 3+ years of professional experience implementing and supporting RPA solutions. Demonstrated experience leading teams (employees and contractors) and hiring/ developing talent to accomplish unusually complex challenges is expected as an ongoing requirement for this position.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in computer science, finance, accounting or related field
· 3+ years of relevant RPA application experience, 2 years experience with Blue Prism RPA
· Experience working in a fast paced environment similar to a high tech start-up with responsibility for leading direct reports and influencing teams in a matrixed environment
· Maintains highest standards for automation delivery, including comprehensive work intake management, portfolio prioritization, resource planning and customer/ stakeholder alignment
· Maintains highest standards for service delivery including, systems analysis, procedural documentation and incident response communication
· Maintains knowledge base of current best practices for accounting processes, accounting applications and financial reporting architecture and design
· Leads a global team (employees/contractors) to support customers across multiple regions.
· Proactively identifies risks and implements mitigation plans
· Synthesizes business requirements with technology capabilities
· Leads with passion and conviction for her/his work, and likewise develops others
· Maintains highest levels of customer focus and results delivery
