Team Description

The Airline Product Expertise group is part of Amadeus Research & Development. Our department is in charge of the transversal activities for Airline IT. This includes:

· Programs with new customers (airlines)

· Enhancements of our products

· Various strategic studies

Our team is composed of versatile Solution Definition Managers who design complex solutions for airlines, and Project Managers.

Main Responsibilities

This internship will take the trainee to a journey between Nice and London: the trainee will participate to building a study on airline IT. The journey will lead to proposing recommendations on the possible approaches to enhance the architecture, cost efficiency or resiliency of a specific airline IT cross-functional aspect.

To perform this study, the trainee will first have the opportunity to work with our R&D experts to understand the airline IT business. Our experts in Nice will provide insights on the airline’s reservation processes; while our experts in London will provide the trainee insights on operations at the airport. Additionally, some experts located throughout the globe (Bangalore, Singapore, Sydney, Dubai, Boston) will participate in providing information to the trainee. This state-of-the-art will lead to the creation of a blue book summarizing the major concepts and vocabulary of the area, the historical reasons for existing design choices, and the important functionality, architecture and design of the area. As an illustration, topics that can be addressed include:

- Code sharing (multiple airlines who optimize their network and costs by participating to the same flight)

- Airline loyalty schemes (all practices and processes related to distributing frequent flier cards, building partnerships with other airlines)

Requirements

- Good analytic skills

- Good writing skills

- A good understanding of concepts of IT will be a plus (but not mandatory)
