Description

DMG department is in charge of standardization and tooling around for Big data processing in Amadeus (Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Elastic search, Kibana…). In the Hadoop team, we are in charge of a full software stack combining many components for data capture, data processing, as well as processed data distribution and visualization.
Our infrastructures are meant to provide analytical processing capabilities on top of extended range of travel data, but we are oriented mainly toward industrialization and deployment of production grade application.
Qliksense is a newcomer in the visualization part of our stack. It is a web based visualization solution running on Windows. It has got scores from many analyst benchmarks and its usage is spreading rapidly within Amadeus.

This internship is aimed at extending Qliksense usage by studying and developing Qliksense extensions and mashups.

Extensions are components written in Javascript and used to provide a new functionality into Qliksense. It can be a new visualization, a new widget to interact with data or to transform page layout. Qliksense extensions can be very powerful and totally modify the user experience but they require some time to be mastered and we really think an internship would help us to build some expertise on this area.

For the candidate, it is the opportunity to become expert on a tool that has top ranking in the BI visualization world and to work in close relation with teams in charge of reporting product design. It is also a chance to develop components interacting with an existing commercial application through REST webservices and Javascript APIs, an experience becoming very valuable today.

Main responsibilities

In the context of this internship, the candidate will familiarize himself with Qliksense and its Javascript API looking at documentation or samples found on the Qlikbranch community market place or directly interacting with Alik support team.

He will also interact with product teams in order to collect their ideas and to prototype them.

As a complement, the candidate will also study mashups which are the possibility to integrate Qliksense components in a custom UI.

Requirements

The candidate shall have solid notions of web design and Javascript coding techniques. He shall be curious, interested in Data visualization techniques.
