The concept of Business Rules is one of the main new trends of the IT and one of its major standards. It enables a product to define and customize a business process with a list of functional criteria based on entities such as markets, flight groups, point of sale, regardless of any development constraints.

BZR team is responsible for the Amadeus Business Rules (ABR) product. It’s a central knowledge repository for all the functional logics in the heart of Altéa Suite: Altéa Inventory & Altéa Departure Control used today by a huge number of airlines. Currently more and more Amadeus products (Electronic ticketing, EOT, Advertising Server, Availability process) are defining their logics with ABR.

Amadeus Business Rules leverages the Drools open source business rule engine to exploit the flexibility and expressiveness of the Drools Rule Language (DRL). Being a very expressive language, DRL is sometimes hard to understand especially to non-technical users. For this reason, we developed Drools Fiddle.

Drools Fiddle (https://github.com/droolsfiddle) is a full-stack AngularJS/JEE open source application thatallows both technical and business users to play around with DRL business rules. Other technologies include Redis, Docker and Maven.

The aim of this internship is to contribute to the evolution of Drools Fiddle on the following features:

· Multi tabbed DRL editor
· Decision table support
· Sequence diagram representation of rule engine events
· Fact history visualization
· Improvement of log events visualization
· KieSession persistence to resume stateful sessions
· Integration within Drools Workbench

The candidate will have a greatopportunity to work on a dynamic open source project of great interest both to Amadeus and to the whole Drools community.
