Team Description

The team is the entry point of the whole division for regression testing and production sign-off of reservation products and applications. It is also responsible of testing tool enhancements.

Our organization is the entry point of the whole R&D for travel distribution products. It delivers Frontend and backend solutions for airlines and travel agencies.

Main Responsibilities

During the planning phase, our QA are struggling to build a test strategy that takes into consideration the way our customers are using our services in production: which version of the message is used the most? Which offices are used the most? The objective is to continuously increase the relevance of our tests to make them consistent with what is happening in Production.

The same logic applies to our regression test suites which have to be continuously revisited and adapted to keep in sync with the production traffic as well.

For that, this apprenticeship was created to build a tool that analyses the production traffic and gives the relevant inputs to the QA for them to be able to better plan their tests. Examples of inputs are the versions of the messages, the offices, the PNR types… The tool should offer to the QA an interface that is able to provide these information dynamically based on queries elaborated by the user (a QA most of the time).

The solution will be based on existing software components (production traffic analysis) and the main activities will be:

· Identify the list of analysis criteria through a survey and consultation of the QA community
· Implement the production traffic new analysis criteria (offices, PNR types…)
· Identify the queries that the UI should handle and design the output format
· Build the UI
· Build a library of basic scripts and create the python library to generate them
· Enhance the UI to be able to retrieve those scripts based on simple queries as input
