Context / team responsibilities:

Amadeus proposes an internet booking engine to airlines willing to sell tickets online. This product called e-Retail is used by 100 airlines around the world and is configurable to suit our customers’ needs.

Our teams are here to find the best solution and service to satisfy our customers themselves to make the most of Amadeus product to, in the end, please their travellers. The product is composed of a lot of functionalities and combinations of settings allowing each airline to have a full branded solution also interconnected with other external service providers. Extending our retailing engine with best of breed partners will allow Amadeus to keeps its readership position in the area.

Major responsibilities:

The trainee will participate in a transversal project team with the aim of delivering a powerful customized booking flow as well as the ability to integrate new partners and external services such as start-ups in the travel space.

During this internship, the student will interact with other players from different Amadeus teams (implementation services, innovation, development …) but also with other companies in the travel industry. This will require good communication skills as well as technical background. This is a good opportunity to dig into the development of API server side connexion.

To get to an appealing and innovative solution the main requirements will be driven by Amadeus, nevertheless we expect the trainee to show proactivity and provide their ideas in an innovative manner.

The trainee will be involved in the following activities:

• Exchange with marketing counterpart to assess business case.

• Evaluate the complexity and cost of the solution requested by the product owner.

• Exchange with third party companies from which we will integrate the service.

• Develop (following the Agile methodology), integrate and test the back-end part of our e-Retail product.

• Demonstrate her/his work to stakeholders during regular demo sessions.

• Provide the specifications, tests and development related documentations.

Technologies and skills:

The trainee will be proficient in Javawithin a J2EE (JBoss) DevOps mode on a cloud based environment (Openshift/Docker). Knowledge of agile methodologies would be appreciated.

The trainee will be required to produce specification andtechnical documentation, describing the application using appropriate tooling and standards.

Knowledge ofweb technologies (HTML/CSS/Javascript/Angular) is a plus

Fluent technical English, both written and spoken, is required.

The trainee will have to demonstrate his ability to communicate within a team as well as his motivation to achieve a task within a defined timeframe.
