Job Title
Safety Assurance Engineer (SAE).
Purpose of the Job
The SAE has the responsibility to execute Safety Analysis and Safety Verifications applicable to the whole lifecycle of the project/product, in order to build the evidences for the safety demonstration of the assigned project.
Position in the Organisation
Organisation Structure
He/she will be part of the metier “Safety Assurance” inside the Engineering organisation of the reference Solution/Product line.
Organisational Reporting
He/she reports functionally to Project Safety Assurance Manager and he/she reports hierarchically to Regional Center Safety Manager.
Key Network & Links
He/she will be assigned to a “product/system development” or “project deployment” team and will collaborate with the Engineering (Design, V&T) and T&C members of the project.
He/she will also interact with internal and external safety assessors in order to explain the safety argumentations.
He/she participate in project review meetings/CCB/delivery reviews/gate review.
Mission
Performance Measurement
Execution on time of the assigned safety activities ensuring identification of safety critical items in the design definition and in the validation process of the project.
Obtain endorsement from Safety Assessors without providing additional analysis/demonstration.
Responsibilities
1) Perform safety analysis and verifications respecting key requirements of the internal procedures and of CENELEC/other safety-related standards.
2) Safety Analysis includes Risk Analysis, Hazard Analysis of the design and implementation, Hazard Analysis regarding the completeness of the process (Design, Verifications, Validation, Installation, T&C, Maintenance).
3) Anticipate potential safety issues and support the identification of corrections/mitigations.
4) Review specifications and results of V&T and T&C activities to check proper coverage of safety requirements.
5) Analysis of the modifications and impact analysis.
6) Active participation to CCB, / Design and Gate Reviews.
7) Explain the safety argumentation to Safety Assessors and obtain their endorsement.
8) Perform formal proof activity for IXL sub-system.
Candidate Requirements
Educational Requirements
Engineering degree.
Desired knowledge / Experience :
· Minimum 3 years of successful experience in Safety Assurance
· Minimum 1 year of experience in the Railway Business, preferable in ATC/interlocking signaling systems.
