JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

Within AWP, an international innovation team is working on preparing our company for the future by building new products and services jointly with our business partners. In cooperation with the international operating entities of Allianz, the teams conceptualize, test and implement innovative business models, products and processes.

The „Assistance and Open Innovation Center“ will be created as the AWP innovation engine for all topics related to Assistance Services and overarching AWP topics. As an enabler and developer of new insurance and assistance solutions it acts as a center of competence interfacing AWP units across the world to drive new business models, products and processes.

The Innovation Manager will actively drive change within AWP. A main focus will be to drive innovation projects in interdisciplinary teams across functions and regions. Close collaboration with the product development team, local business units and other departments of the Allianz Group will be required - ultimately taking concepts to reality and helping the Allianz Group to gain further experience in future-driven business models.

The Innovation Manager will be reporting to the Head of Assistance & Open Innovation Center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Innovation Scouting for new technologies and ventures within and outside the Allianz group

Validation of potential new business models via development of prototypes, pilots or programs

Drive innovation initiatives, lead and coordinate projects in interdisciplinary teams with different functions and business units both within AWP, Allianz Group and external partners.

Support the Business Development of new AWP products and services (e.g. in the area of smart homes, digital risks and mobile payment)

Work closely with other Allianz Group functions to enhance the existing product and service innovation roadmap

Actively drive change within AWP, build an innovation community and develop instruments to actively engage employees across the globe

Support incoming tenders and new client requests. Work closely with stakeholders along the entire delivery chain and across geographies to develop compelling global offers

Support the conceptualization and preparation of sales and marketing material to support business development workshops with potential and existing business customers

Key account management towards key internal and external stakeholders

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Qualification

Bachelor or Masters degree, preferably in business administration, entrepreneurship and/or computer science or similar business or technology degree

Advanced user of Microsoft Office packages : Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Excellent verbal and written English required, proficient German as well as additional foreign language skills are advantageous

Experience & key skills

3 years of prior professional experience with project leadership experience are required in either corporate or consulting with functional experience in either of corporate/ business development, technology/innovation or sales/ business development

Industry experience in insurance and/or assistance business are advantageous

Familiarity with latest technology trends are a plus

In addition we expect:

- Excellent interpersonal skills (communication, negotiation and mediation) and ability to develop strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Business fluency in English, additional knowledge of German or French is a plus
- Flexibility to quickly become acquainted with new project tasks, content and assignments
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and international environment
- Strong conceptual thinking and ability to design new and original solutions to complex problems
- Self-motivation and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
- Ability to handle complex projects, competing priorities, anticipate requirements and possible obstacles
