The intern will integrate the Spacraft Production Team, in the UK, on Stevenage site. The internship will be embedded in propulsion team, who is responsible to Assemble, Integration and Test and deliver the propulsion modules for Airbus Spacecraft. You will be responsible to define and deploy the improvement roadmap for the propulsion spacecraft production team.

Tasks

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include;

You will be in charge to define, deploy and drumbeat the improvement roadmap for the department. The department is made of around 80 people, and is a muti-functional team, including Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Test, Production Control and the delivery managers. You will need to:

·  Have participative approach to gather ideas and visions in order to update / strengthen the vision of the department
·  Be proactive and facilitate improvement Workshops with key stakeholders and deliver improvement (through sprint, or kaizen on the shopfloor)
·  Ensure principles of Lean Manufacturing are embedded in our improvement plan
·  Deploy 5s, line side delivery and strengthen visual management on the shop floor

Our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  Excellent people skills
·  Understanding of Manufacturing and best practices in manufacturing management (flow management, Lean Manufacturing,…)
·  Understanding of key principles to facitiate and motivate a group of people – empowered team
·  Ability to manage complex change projects involving many stakeholders
