Location: Donauwörth
Start: Winter Semester 2019
Duration: 6 months (extension possible)

Tasks & accountabilities

The Laboratory for Materials & Processes (LMP) is supporting the engineering, production and in-service helicopters at the main points of helicopters life time cycle: beginning with the research and development and selection of new components, via test to qualification & verification till problem analysis, repair solutions, improvement & change with regards to newest environmental and safety aspects.

Within the lead-function Labor Material & Processes, the electrical department is responsible for all above mentioned tasks related to electrical installation components, like wire & harnesses, contacts & connectors, switches, circuit breakers, relays, potentiometers, as well as the development and definition of new technologies like Fibre Optics components or High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) components.

You will work on the following project:
- Creation of an electrical grounding guideline, based in the already existing different rules, processes and guidelines.
- To produce the samples, test and evaluate them.
- Analysis of the different existing national process documents, conclusion into the least common requirements and creation of a new transnational harmonized guideline description, in close cooperation with the electrical design team, the electrical LMP team in Donauwörth and France/Marignane and the LMP surface treatment team.

Required skills

You offer:
- Enrolled student (d/f/m) in the field of electrical engineering or similar
- Solid academic knowledge
- First practical experiences within electrical engineering are beneficial
- Confident handling of MS Office
- Team spirit and good communication skills
- Independent way of working
- Fluent in English and advanced in German
