Description of the job :
A position of Electric Propulsion Architect has just opened within Airbus Defence & Space / Space Systems in Toulouse. You will join the electric propulsion department .

You will lead engineering activities related to the electric propulsion functional chain for a Telecom or observation satellite project.

You will report to the head of Electric Propulsion department in Toulouse.

Task & accountabilities :
You will be in charge of the following main activities:
• You will be in charge of the implementation of the PPS chain on a specific spacecraft and coordinate associated activities with the support of equipment responsible in the following fields :
o Definition of electric propulsion chain architecture and technical characteristics
o Analysis of propulsion chain design and qualification status versus the satellite Customer requirements
o Definition of propulsion performances, budgets and interaction analysis with regard to the spacecraft
• You will be in charge of the definition, preparation and follow-up of validation and tests activities potentially on equipments and on the S/C bench (EFM), then directly on the satellite, support to AIT activities, assessment of the tests and analysis/processing of raised anomalies
• You will be in charge of the operational aspects in order to prepare the LEOP and the In Orbit Tests and then the ease the in flight survey
• You will contribute to the maintenance and improvement activities of the MSC for the PPS functional chain.
• You will participate to different satellite project reviews when required (Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review, Test Review Board) and provide with the synthesis of electric propulsion chain definition and validation to the satellite project
• You will interface with the project team, technical responsibles in various areas (mechanical, thermal, electrical, functional, modelisation), the procurement, AIT and operations departments
Business travels can be expected (once a month) in (in the world) and consequently, you must be willing to travel accordingly.

Required skills :
• Several years in sub-system engineering or propulsion design for space projects
• Capability to interface with different technical areas e.g. mechanical / thermal / electrical / functional
• Rigorous, good communication and synthesis skills
• Ability to work within a team environment
