Description of the job:

A vacancy for a In-service aircraft data engineer has arisen within Airbus Defense and Space in Getafe.
The candidate will be part of aircraft operability team that provides engineering and technical support through the monitoring and analyses of the in-service reliability, availability and maintainability of the military transport aircraft fleet. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing data and data pipelines from different sources.

The successful applicant should be able to work on shifts, if required.

Task & accountabilities:
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Clean and organize/structure raw data to ensure data quality by its validation, correction and enrichment.
·  Improve data pipelines to ensure the accuracy and availability of the data.
·  Develop and implement internal process improvements: automating manual process, optimizing data delivery, creating visualizations and dashboards to interpret and make decisions with the data for in-depth analysis (trending, statistical, alerts, pattern discovery, forecasting etc.)
·  Assist to build the infrastructure for optimal data treatment including extraction, transformation and loading using SQL, big data or data analytics technologies.
·  Support and participate in Smartforce Reliability analytics project
·  Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues

This role will involve some travel for business less than four times a year and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills :
You will have the following skills and experience:
 

• Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Systems, Data, Computer engineering or related.
• From 2-3 years of experience in a similar position.

• Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst

• Strong knowledge in computer science and information management, statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets is required. 
• Knowledge of databases (SQL, etc), programming (XML, Javascript or ETL frameworks) and Knowledge of Tibco Spotfire would be valued.
• Reliable Team player, with a good sense of reporting, ability to cope with highly demanding environment.
• Language Skills: Negotiation level of English and Spanish is a must.
