Description of SCIFI Demonstrator

UpNext launches a new flight demonstrator, SCIFI, to go a step further to pave the way for autonomous flight on commercial aircraft. In particular, this demonstrator aims at demonstrating the ability to ensure safe flight back and landing. All outcomes of this demonstration will contribute to preparing more autonomous aircraft of the next decade.

On top of these technical challenges, this demonstration has to be achieved in less than 30months.

Team spirit, proactivity and pragmatism will be the key ingredients to make this unique journey successful.

You will integrate a team composed of System Designers, HMI Developers and Operations Specialists. The HMI team itself integrates in the global SCIFI team, a multidisciplinary, multi-skilled team.

Main missions:

SCIFI team is looking for a HMI (Human-machine interface) Designer (m/f) to lead the Design supporting the SCIFI objectives.

As such, you will:

· 
Capturing needs from stakeholders (i.e. Flight Tests people, other R&T Teams)

· 
Proposing and iterating on design for the project HMIs (i.e. Pilot interactive Displays, Ground Assistant station, FTI Displays, Head-Mounted Displays)

· 
Managing development and testing, ensuring implementation is in line with design, and the capture of test results, in collaboration with other team members

· 
Preparing the documentation for flight testing

· 
Assisting the demonstrator lead and Autonomy thrust lead with meetings and action follow-up, when required.

Duration of the mission:

The mission will last until the flight tests campaign and the associated reports, roughly 24 months.

Note that the contract for this position is a CDIC (Contrat Durée Indéterminée de Chantier), limited term contract for the duration of the project.

Your Boarding Pass (Required skills):

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:

· 
Educated to Master's degree level in HMI design or equivalent

· 
Strong knowledge in UI/UX design and validation

· 
Background in Human Factors and HMI development

· 
Past experience in HMI design and/or development in a complex context, preferably the automotive industry

· 
Aeronautical knowledge and experience is a plus

· 
Negotiation level in English.
