Description of the job

A vacancy for an R&D Machine Learning Expert (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse. You will join the Airbus DS Intelligence department.

Airbus DS Intelligence opens a machine learning position within the Toulouse R&D team. This expert must be specialized in Deep Learning and in particular in convolutional neural networks (CNNs) applied to satellite images.

You will integrate the Deep Learning / Big data division within the R&D team, which includes around ten people and will interact with the cloud R&D environment called OneAtlas Playground. This environment makes it possible to develop Deep Learning models, manage datasets necessary for tagging, launch active learning loops, and execute large scale processing on all the images available in the platform OneAtlas.

For France:
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

You will be responsible for:

·  Carrying out research work to propose new approaches and methodologies to bring out new uses of satellite images. To carry out his work
·  Working in close proximity with the operational teams who develop new services, and with the Sales & Marketing teams who design the new services based on market or customer needs.
·  Participating to the evolution of the OneAtlas / Playgroung R&D platform
·  Knowing how to look for information and remain at the state of the art in a highly evolving machine learning landscape.
·  Taking in charge researches themes, to discuss the objectives with the different actors, and to bring it to an end in coherence with the operational imperatives of the company.

This role could involve occasional travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

·  A scientific academic background (applied mathematics, physics, remote sensing) with a university degree or engineer
·  At least 1 year of experience in the field of Deep Learning and be familiar with Deep Learning environments (Python, Jupyter, OpenCV, GitLab, Keras, TensorFlow) as well as with the Google Cloud Platform (Compute, AppEngine, Docker, CloudML).
·  Knowledge in image processing
·  Remote sensing, mathematical modeling, statistics and development (DevOps) are highly desirable
·  Good communication skills in order to interact with support teams and internal or external clients / partners.
·  A strong customer orientation with good listening skills and the search for innovative solutions is an important aspect of the job.

A negotiation level of English is required.
